Rebecca W. Hanemaayer, RMT

Rebecca has been anactive member of the Back To Health team since 2006. Upon graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2005 she has specialized in modalities such as; Pre Natal Massage, Deep Tissue Release, Myofascial Release, Ligamentous Articular Strain Technique, Trigger Point Therapy, Joint Mobilizations, Muscle Energy Techniques, and General Soft Tissue Mobilizations.

Rebecca's approach to the treatment of each clients 'Soft Tissue Issues' is to work with the bodys own natural pattern of release. Instead of forcing the muscle to bend to her will, she prefers to follow the pattern of restriction and allow the muscles to release in their own time, thus preventing further trauma and enabling a longer lasting correction. When working outside of the body's own ability to let go and relax the effectivness of a therapists treatment will be quite minimal. The duration of muscle relief will often be short lived, be it a week or a day, only to bounce back to its previous location in the pain tension cycle. As a healthcare provider, Rebecca is all about helping each client ease OUT of their pain tension cycle, not easing back into it. Each client can expect to be provided with specific therapeutic exercises or selfcare tips to aid each treatment given. Not only will this bring about a sense of ownership of one&s own health but it also encourages the soft tissues to form a new holding pattern in their newly unrestrticted state.

Outside of work, if she isn&t playing her guitar or volunteering at church, Rebecca enjoys being a part of the Richmond community by frequenting the local coffee shops or taking walks through the various neighborhoods and trails.
